About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the shipment of goods and monitoring inventory levels for order fulfillment. This role includes collecting information to maintain shipping reports, tracking and weighing all inbound raw products, and ensuring proper procedures are followed during the shipping process. The coordinator will document and maintain complete logs of all products leaving the facility, select the correct product to ship per customer specifications, and manage paperwork for retention. Additionally, the coordinator will participate in team development and communication, fostering cohesiveness regarding major issues and supporting the team leader in resolving any areas lacking cohesion. The position also requires familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Requirements

• 1-3 years work experience in warehouse shipping or in a shipping and receiving department.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the shipment of goods and monitors inventory levels for order fulfillment.
• Collects information to maintain shipping reports.
• Facilitates tracking and weighing of all inbound raw products.
• Collects and creates paperwork to ship and receive products.
• Documents and maintains complete logs of all products leaving the facility.
• Selects the correct product to ship per specifications of the customer.
• Manages paperwork and housing of it for retention.
• Documents all inbound and outbound material from the facility.
• Seals trailers before leaving property.
• Monitors and maintains inventory levels.
• Forms cycle counts and maintains adjustment reports.
• Places requisition numbers to Purchase Orders and completes aged products and shortage reports.
• Calculates weight of non-usable material per truckload.
• Participates as a member of the Team in ongoing development and implementation of team concepts.
• Attends appropriate team meetings.
• Identifies areas lacking cohesiveness and works with the team to resolve issues.
• Maintains familiarity with Simmons' operating systems and communicates concerns.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
