About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk with strong computer skills and hands-on experience in shipping/receiving operations. The ideal candidate will also be experienced in operating a hi-lo (forklift) and capable of handling daily logistics tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring timely shipments, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and shipping software.
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, move, and stage materials using a forklift or pallet jack
  • Working knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including packing, labeling, and verifying shipments
  • Ability to accurately count, inspect, and record incoming and outgoing materials
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure correct items, quantities, and documentation
  • Comfortable using computers for data entry, inventory tracking, and shipping paperwork
  • Ability to read work orders, bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists or purchase orders.
  • Accurately enter data into inventory and shipping systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, or shipping platforms like UPS WorldShip or FedEx).
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling, packaging, and coordinating with carriers.
  • Maintain organized records of received goods and shipped materials.
  • Load and unload trucks using a hi-lo/forklift safely and efficiently as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (production, customer service, purchasing) to ensure timely material flow.
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist with cycle counts as needed.
  • Identify and report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shipping/receiving area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety programs.
