The Shipping and Receiving Associate I position at MID Labs, Inc. is a temporary-to-hire role focused on verifying and maintaining records for incoming and outgoing shipments. The associate will be responsible for inventory movements, processing shipments, and ensuring timely delivery to customers while adhering to GMP and FDA regulations.

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Processes shipments in a timely manner to meet on-time delivery to customers.
  • Schedules outgoing freight customer pallets and incoming/outgoing carrier pick-ups.
  • Packages outgoing goods in a safe and secure manner.
  • Picks products and raw materials for open work orders for processed transactions.
  • Records weights and shipping charges and communicates information to the Sales Department.
  • Follows written procedures, unpacks and examines incoming shipments, reports damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with Purchasing to rectify any discrepancies.
  • Routes non-inventory items to departments, labels, and places inventory materials into the appropriate locations.
  • Performs data entry and maintains accurate records for shipping and receiving documents and warehouse transactions.
  • Prepares Shippers Export Declaration (SED) from Automated Export Services (AES) with Commercial Invoices (C.I.) and Shipper Letter of Instruction (S.L.I.) for all international shipping.
  • Works closely with Customer Service and Purchasing.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • 3 to 4 years of shipping and receiving experience, preferably in a high-paced manufacturing or biomedical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to lift and push 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with normal supervision.
  • Computer knowledge is mandatory, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with FedEx and UPS computer shipping programs, and international shipping is a plus.
  • Basic math skills, including computing ratios, percentages, and rates.
  • Familiarity with GMP and FDA requirements is a plus.
  • Experience with stand-up forklifts.
  • Knowledge of international shipping procedures.
