A Shippers main responsibility is to safely load customer product onto trucks, help transfer material throughout the plant, stage material for the next day, monitor product quality prior to loading or unloading, unload trucks and railcars and other tasks as needed. This teammate will cross train in shipping and receiving to be able to help in both areas based on work load demands. Teamwork is crucial to success. Hours are based on business conditions and customer demands, and will be adjusted accordingly. Short notice overtime is a possibility, along with weekend and shift work. This person will be responsible for product quality, housekeeping and care of the equipment being used. This person will also become an internal auditor. Forklift and crane operation is required. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
