The Shipper is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and on-time shipment of compressed gas products in full compliance with all domestic and international regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum 1 year experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Certifications: Ability to become certified and maintain certification for Domestic and International shipments, including DOT, IATA, IMDG, and HM 126 qualification within required timeframes.
  • Computer Literacy: Strong computer literacy, such as experience with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail), SAP, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and AFS Freight System. Proficient with data entry.
  • Office Skills: Ability to copy, scan, and perform digital filing, and complete computer-based training across multiple platforms.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including internal and external email correspondence and telephone communication.
  • Physical Ability: Physical ability to walk and stand for a minimum of six hours per day, climb steps, routinely move up to 60 pounds, and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to safely operate forklifts and powered and manual pallet jacks, and maintain all necessary certifications.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accurate documentation is mandatory.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Nice To Haves

  • Current possession of active DOT, IATA, and IMDG certifications.
  • Practical working experience with the SAP system, specifically in logistics or warehouse modules.
  • Previous professional experience in the shipping of hazardous materials, export shipments, and import processes.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the industrial and specialty gas industry.
  • Education or training in cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements.
  • Proficiency in the use of scheduling or logistics management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all 49CFR, IATA, and IMDG Hazardous Communications regulations, as well as cGMP, ISO, and Airgas Therapeutics procedures.
  • Work daily to ensure on-time shipments and deliveries.
  • Execute the following shipping activities: Picking, packing, and labeling parcel and freight orders for shipment. Processing UPS and FedEx shipments and providing necessary documentation. Processing Less Than Truckload (LTL) common carrier shipments and providing necessary documentation. Loading and unloading of transport vehicles. Daily logging of receipt and inspection for UPS, FedEx, and truck shipments.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and report non-conforming products.
  • Collaborate with the work cell leader to propose productivity enhancements and process improvements.
  • Operate the forklift in a safe and authorized manner, maintaining certification.
  • Prepare all international documentation in compliance with IATA/IMDG regulations and Airgas Export Compliances.
  • Determine the most appropriate shipping methods based on product and destination.
  • Match work orders to the appropriate delivery ticket generated.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including maintaining shipping supplies.
  • Successfully and timely complete all required training activities.
  • Ensure all materials are properly dispositioned at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
