About The Position

The shipper prepares products for shipment and keeps record of outgoing products. Shippers will track packages through use of RF (Radio Frequency) units. Shippers must maintain a safe work environment, and meet quality standards for packaging materials. Lift products manually to place them on to pallet Communicate with coworkers to share expertise Follow safety procedures for equipment to reduce potential for accidents Examine products to ensure damaged products are not shipped Lift products to place them on to shelves Use box cutters to cut packaging materials Monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning Lift products to place them into boxes Communicate with supervisors to resolve conflicts Understand quota requirements to accomplish expected production level Use RF (Radio Frequency) units to scan barcodes Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Roanoke, VA (50 miles) will be considered for this position. Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Active Learning - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work. Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
