About The Position

The shipper prepares products for shipment and keeps record of outgoing products. Shippers will track packages through use of RF (Radio Frequency) units. Shippers must maintain a safe work environment, and meet quality standards for packaging materials. Lift products manually to place them on to pallet Communicate with coworkers to share expertise Follow safety procedures for equipment to reduce potential for accidents Examine products to ensure damaged products are not shipped Lift products to place them on to shelves Use box cutters to cut packaging materials Monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning Lift products to place them into boxes Communicate with supervisors to resolve conflicts Understand quota requirements to accomplish expected production level Use RF (Radio Frequency) units to scan barcodes

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Roanoke, VA (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

  • Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods including the relative costs and benefits.
