About The Position

Haydon, Kerk and Pittman are three world class AMETEK brands that supply advanced linear and rotary motion solutions to a diverse mix of global customers. We are recognized as a leading manufacturer of brushed and brushless DC motors, stepper motor based linear actuators, precision Acme lead screw and anti-backlash nut assemblies, linear rail and guide systems, gearmotors, drives and complete custom automation sub-systems. We are seeking to add a motivated Shipper to our team. This position will assist and oversee all aspects of the shipping and receiving department and serve as backup when necessary for each area. This position will verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments as well as receive, unpack and deliver materials to appropriate departments. The shipper will prepare product and other materials for shipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a shipping manufacturing environment with experience using UPS and FedEx software in addition to international shipping preferred.
  • Experience with various software including Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Familiar with lean practices and problem solving.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive a box truck.
  • Work as both an individual contributor and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
  • May be required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • May be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.
  • Flexibility to work overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with shipments of all items per schedule, sales order, shipping memo or special instructions, identifying them with bar codes and/or labels as required.
  • Produce packing slips, commercial invoices, and other paperwork through ERP or related systems as needed.
  • Schedule shipments with designated service providers via telephone or by utilizing on-line registration. Prepare proper paperwork and required documentation.
  • Package all products neatly and properly to safeguard against damage or loss.
  • Input data into ERP or related systems. Accuracy is critical.
  • Maintain the shipping and dock areas so they are clean and organized at all times for safety and cleanliness.
  • Receive, unpack and verify all incoming materials, recording all pertinent information and checking for count accuracy. Report any discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
  • Identify all returned products, separate them and deliver to Quality.
  • Follow procedures for handling chemical materials as outlined in the Hazard Communication plan.
  • Follow all safety regulations including proper lifting and movement of packages.
