Position Summary: The Shipper Receiver performs all activities associated with the receipt and staging of inbound freight and the packaging/crating/scheduling of outbound freight. Locates, issues, and maintains all inventory materials.

Requirements

  • To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.
  • Education and Training High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of shipping/receiving/warehouse experience.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Fork truck certification or ability to obtain one
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required
  • Travel on rare occasions

Responsibilities

  • Complete shipping and receiving process and procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Pull finished product from inventory, assemble orders and prepare for shipment in accordance with pick list/bill of material, company policy and customer requests.
  • Unload, receive, verify, stage, and document all incoming expense, project, inventory, and customer supplied materials.
  • Count and examine raw materials, supplies, finished product, etc. to verify completeness against appropriate documents; check for damaged materials; maintain records of shortages, damages and other exceptions.
  • Package/crate/palletize, load, and document all outbound shipments.
  • Maintain raw material/secondary operation certification logs.
  • Coordinate all outbound freight carriers.
  • Responsible for inspecting inbound shipments both in quantity and quality to ensure they are complete and in good condition prior to taking delivery.
  • Manage transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system regarding shipments, receipts, and inventory levels and ensure complete accuracy.
  • Perform cycle counts and other inventory verification as required.
  • Ensure packing slips match purchase orders and investigate discrepancies.
  • Proficient computer skills to navigate companywide computer systems.
  • Maintain project material storage locations to create a safe and upkept work environment.
  • Load, organize, and maintain raw material storage/staging areas and racks.
  • Maintain work location in excellent condition to comply with company policies for safety and housekeeping while maintaining and organizing adequate shipping supplies.
  • Operate appropriate equipment in a manner that is safe and compliant with OSHA standards.
  • Operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jack, electric saws and pneumatic nail/staple guns.
  • Drive company vehicle to accommodate local pickups and deliveries.
  • Inventory management and assembly of physical goods located in multiple warehouse locations.
  • Monitor and validate all inventories by performing cycle counts of all products.
  • Identify and deliver various raw materials for production and perform quality checks according to company policies and procedures.
  • Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in computation or count or investigate and report reasons for discrepancies.
  • Pick and pull parts and material for assembly.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient transfers of parts and costs.
