Role Summary: Join Harold Beck & Sons as a key contributor in our shipping and receiving operations, responsible for the accurate intake of incoming materials and repairs, as well as the precise packaging and preparation of actuators, spare parts, and completed Beck drive assemblies for shipment. This role includes fabricating durable skids and crates to support safe transport of Beck equipment, coordinating carrier arrangements, and ensuring all shipments meet customer specifications and delivery requirements. Working closely with internal departments and external carriers, this position plays an essential part in maintaining the reliability, quality, and operational excellence that define Beck’s manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Previous related shipping/receiving experience of 5 to 10 years
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with fabricating skids and crates for the shipment of Beck drives and Beck drive/valve mounting assemblies
  • Ability to work independently and as a team to prioritize work assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work priorities with other departments to ensure shipment needs are met
  • Ability to make sound judgments with shipping/receiving related issues
  • Basic computer skills, experience in the use of UPS on-line shipping system
  • Familiarity with basic packaging techniques and equipment such as pneumatic staplers, nail guns, and pallet trucks.
  • Knowledge and skilled with using fork trucks
  • Experience with coordinating carrier arrangements
  • Possess excellent attention and respect for detail
  • Possess good oral communication skills
  • Predictable and reliable attendance is required
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required.
  • Standing and walking for a majority of the workday
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily receiving of incoming materials and repairs.
  • Package actuators, spare parts, and parts orders for shipment and make carrier arrangements as necessary.
  • Construct skids and crates for finished drive assemblies.
  • Coordinate carrier arrangements to meet customer delivery and carrier requests.
  • This position will require interaction with other departments and outside carriers in support of operations.
