As a Shipper/Receiver, you will play a crucial role in our Distribution Center team by performing tasks related to the efficient flow of goods in and out of our warehouse facility. You will become proficient in both shipping and receiving duties. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments of raw materials and equipment, preparing outgoing shipments of raw materials and finished product, and maintaining organized inventory records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • 6+ months of experience in warehousing, food manufacturing, or forklift operation (preferred).
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and meet safety requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and product quality.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work respectfully and collaboratively.
  • Good problem-solving skills and being able to address routine issues and know when to escalate more complex ones.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction) and the ability to record accurate information.
  • Comfortable using email, Microsoft Office, and other software for daily communication and recordkeeping.
  • Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and ensuring quality standards.
  • Safely unload, transport, and store raw materials and finished products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Organize and rotate inventory using FIFO (first in, first out) methods to maintain accuracy and freshness.
  • Prepare and load outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and securing products according to schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records for all inbound and outbound shipments using ERP systems and reports.
  • Greet and check in drivers and visitors, ensuring a professional and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to prioritize and complete customer orders on time.
  • Help maintain warehouse cleanliness by participating in the Master Sanitation program.
  • Take part in department, team, and company meetings to support continuous improvement.
  • Complete and maintain up-to-date certifications and training as required, including safety protocols, chemical handling, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • May perform a variety of tasks which directly contribute to Rhino Foods but may not directly relate to the primary duties and responsibilities of the job.
  • Flexibility is essential in Rhino’s ability to respond to short-term demands and ensure smooth operations during busy times. You may be involved in voluntary overtime or temporary assignments that result in extended shifts, weekend shifts, work completed on a different shift or at another Rhino location based on business needs.
