About The Position

We are currently looking for a Shipper to be based out of Woodburn, OR. Reporting to Logistics Manager, the Shipper will be responsible for planning outgoing merchandise and verifying the incoming quantity and quality of shipments. Also ensures that all shipping activities follow OSHA regulations, organizational policies, and other applicable government laws or regulations.

Requirements

• Administrative and computer skills
• Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, shipping documents, or shipping orders, to route materials in Excel.
• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meters.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, space availability, damages, or discrepancies.
• Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
• Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
• Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
• Compare shipping routes or methods to determine which have the least environmental impact.
• Operate power industrial equipment (Forklift, etc.)
