About The Position

The Shipper/Receiver III performs advanced shipping and receiving duties across domestic, international, EDI, and regulated shipments while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and workflow continuity. This role serves as next-in-charge in the absence of the Warehouse Manager, providing day-to-day direction, task delegation, and problem-solving support for warehouse team members. Success in this role requires technical expertise, sound decision-making, and the ability to lead through example.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; and three years of warehousing-related experience and/or training in shipping/receiving; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example-balancing business needs with appropriate team delegation to keep work moving accurately, safely, and on schedule.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating instructions, and work orders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use measuring instruments.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Initiative, problem solving, and thoroughness.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods; walk; use hands to handle materials; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently lift/move 25 lbs; occasionally lift/move 65 lbs; push/pull up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced shipping and receiving functions including domestic, international, EDI, firearms, and regulated materials.
  • Unload, unpack, inspect, count, and verify incoming materials with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Pick, pack, stage, and ship orders ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
  • Manage EDI and international shipments, ensuring documentation and compliance requirements are met.
  • Prepare labels, bills of lading, and shipping paperwork; arrange freight pickups as needed.
  • Receive and inspect returns; process, update, close, and ship Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) accurately and timely.
  • Log product movement accurately in NetSuite, Kardex, and other systems; maintain strong transaction accuracy.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate discrepancies, damages, shortages, or paperwork issues; escalate as appropriate.
  • Support finished goods inventory rotation, cycle counts, audits, and reporting requirements (including ATF-related audits where applicable).
  • Serve as next-in-charge during Warehouse Manager absences-helping the team prioritize work, resolve issues, and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to teammates based on workload, urgency, and skill level while remaining hands-on and available.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and informal coaching to Shippers, Receivers, and Material Handlers to strengthen accuracy and consistency.
  • Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely; load/unload trucks; wrap/strap pallets; build boxes as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and reinforce warehouse standards.
