About The Position

The position involves taking direction from the shipping expeditor and performing various tasks related to the pre-hanging of doors. The role requires effective communication with supervisors and co-workers, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The job also includes responsibilities related to safety, quality inspection, and material handling.

Requirements

• Understands the basic fundamentals of door pre-hanging.
• Be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Must possess strong mechanical aptitude to understand specifications.
• Be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers.
• Be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment doing multiple tasks.
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Be dependable with respect to attendance and tardiness.
• Be willing to work overtime (includes Saturdays) as needed to meet production demand.

Responsibilities

• Wears proper safety attire (safety glasses and ear plugs) and operates machinery and forklifts in a safe and proper manner.
• Be able to pass job specific forklift certification.
• Completes daily forklift inspection form as required.
• Pulls completed pallets off of the Interior Per-hung line and places them in either their bin location or onto trucks as per expeditors directions.
• Takes direction from Expeditor as to what material to pull and load on trucks.
• Inspects components and doors for Quality & Correctness as per specifications and standards.
• Checks each pallet coming off the line going to be stored in racking for Quality – Correctness – Accuracy and fills in the pallet # on the blue & gold copy but does not fill in the quantity shipped until pallet is later loaded on trailer.
• Checks each pallet coming from identified rows for Quality – Correctness – Accuracy and fills in the quantity shipped on the blue & gold copy only after the pallet is actually loaded on trailer.
• Understands the proper material needed and technique to tie down loads so as to prevent shipping damage.
• Reports any shortages of parts to supervisor.
• Checks door slabs to make sure they are the correct type, size, quantity, and have the correct SKU applied to edge of door.
• Maintains a positive attitude towards work and fellow employees.
• Helps in other areas as needed when necessary.
• Cleans up work area at end of each shift and during the day as needed to maintain a safe work environment.
• Performs any and all duties assigned by the supervisor in an 'Efficient' & 'Productive' manner.
