About The Position

Venture Dynamics Enterprise is seeking experienced 1st Class Shipfitters for ship repair projects. The ideal candidate will have solid experience fitting, fabricating, and installing structural components aboard naval and commercial vessels. DBIDS in hand is preferred.

Requirements

4+ years of shipfitting experience in a ship repair or shipbuilding environment
Ability to read blueprints and perform precise measurements and layouts.
Must be able to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and in various weather conditions.
DBIDS in hand preferred ; must be able to obtain or maintain Navy base access.
Must pass background check and drug screening.
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic required.

Responsibilities

Lay out and fabricate metal structural parts such as plates, frames, bulkheads, and foundations according to blueprints and specifications.
Align, position, and fit components together using welding, burning, and fitting equipment.
Perform tack welding and assist welders in completing structural assemblies.
Use hand tools, torches, grinders, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
Read and interpret ship repair drawings and technical instructions.
Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards set by the shipyard.
