Shipbuilding Electrical Designer 2
About The Position
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as AutoCAD. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present the design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups, such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or other 2-year technical degree in a related discipline and 1 year of experience.
Nice To Haves
- Three years of related experience in electrical design OR experience as a shipyard electrician.
- An associate degree in an engineering design-related field is preferred.
