About The Position

As a Shipboard Equipment Validation Specialist/Integrated Logistics Support Analyst, you’ll be joining an elite team of subject matter experts supporting Military Sealift Command’s World Wide Logistics Support Service to conduct onboard equipment validations and process updates into the MSC configuration system of record.

Requirements

  • Active DOD Secret clearance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4-8 years of demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience in fleet sustainment logistics support services to fleet vessels of the MSC, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Coast Guard
  • Highly proficient in MS Office products, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ship acquisition and fleet sustainment support services utilizing any of the following systems: MSC/Navy/Coast Guard/Commercial databases/systems as well as One Touch Supply, LogiQuest or Haystack and FedMall.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities for MSC for ships undergoing overhaul around the world.
  • Perform Government property accounting functions at various shipyards, including overall management of Government Furnished Material (GFM) provided for the overhaul.
  • Assist in ordering additional material as required.
  • Track the shipments through onsite receipt and issuance to the shipyard.
  • Coordinate the shipping and return of unused material.
  • Generate required DD1149 documents for return of GFM to MSC warehouses for future use.
  • Perform onsite targeted shipboard equipment validations.
  • Update configuration records with validation results in MSC’s/ship’s configuration database to reflect equipment that was added, deleted, or modified.
  • Work onsite as an integral member of MSC Project Teams assigned to manage overhauls around the world.
  • Assist MSC Headquarters, the ship’s Port Engineer and the ship’s crew in all logistics issues during the overhaul, in support of National objectives.
  • Interface with shipyard warehouse personnel to assist in receipts, issuance, and material movement.
  • Assist the ship with updated configuration records/APLs, to reflect the new equipment installed during the overhaul/validation.
