About The Position

This position is currently open, we are accepting applications. Prevailance is seeking an experienced and mission-focused professional to support the Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command (SWESC) as an Electrician's Mate (EM) Contractor Instructor . This position is essential in providing operational and curriculum support, administration, safety, and management for formalized naval training.

Requirements

  • Former Navy Senior (E5 – E9) Surface Ship Engineer and one of the following:
  • Tier I (Master Level): An Electrician’s Mate AND a graduate of: Air Cooled Frequency Converter, Maintenance (A-652-0241) Electrician’s Mate Surface Ship Electrical Advanced Maintenance (A-662-0017) SSM Automated Degaussing (A-690-0022)
  • Tier II (Journeyman Level): One of the following ratings: Electrician’s Mate (EM) Gas Turbine System Technician Electrical (GSE) Interior Communications Electrician (IC) Plus a graduate of two (2) out of the three (3) following courses: Air Cooled Frequency Converter, Maintenance (A-652-0241) Electrician’s Mate Surface Ship Electrical Advanced Maintenance (A-662-0017) SSM Automated Degaussing (A-690-0022)
  • Instructor qualifications: Graduate of the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502) or an equivalent instructor training course
  • Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience in the subject matter to be instructed
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a military training environment
  • Knowledge of learning principles, methods of presentation, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum, training aids, and maintenance procedures related to the course
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain a favorable background investigation

Responsibilities

  • Classroom Preparation: Prepare classrooms, workstations, and labs prior to instruction, ensuring all equipment is set up and instructional materials are available
  • Operational Checks: Perform operational checks of classroom and lab training equipment, devices, and aids to ensure functionality and readiness
  • Equipment Maintenance: Identify deficiencies or discrepancies in training equipment and instructional aids, including preventative and corrective maintenance needs. Submit written recommendations to the Training Authority (TA) and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR)
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of instructional materials and student forms required for specific classes and labs
  • Reporting Discrepancies: Document and report any material discrepancies or issues that may hinder teaching any section of the course through the SWSC/PMS 339/SLC Formal Course Review process
