Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with other colleagues across all functions of the organization.
  • Experience working within a production environment
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Thermoforming Operator or has demonstrated prior equivalent experience and knowledge.
  • A can-do positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Training in SQF or other Food Safety environments a plus
  • Prior experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety practices at all times – become SME on safety equipment and train others.
  • Assist Supervisor in coordinating daily activities of production employees and machinery in Building #1 GN room.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and instilling safe working habits to hourly employees. Monitors daily conditions and conducts monthly shift meetings.
  • Assigns work to subordinates, trains, instructs, and assists them in overcoming problems encountered on their job.
  • Monitors department operations regularly to insure processes, schedules, and quality are maintained.
  • Diagnosis operating difficulties and take corrective action.
  • Responsible for product quality based on knowledge of customer requirements and recommendations and specifications provided by Engineering and Customer Service Departments.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper and accurate production reports.
  • Prepares maintenance work order requests for equipment repairs and/or modifications as necessary.
  • Prepares tool repair request for repairs and/or modifications as necessary.
  • Evaluates hourly employees and makes recommendations for wage changes as appropriate.
  • When necessary, recommend disciplinary action for hourly employees and/or employee discharge.
  • Resolve personnel problems with hourly employees, implement company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Interview and hire hourly employees as required.
  • Participates in the preparation of department operating costs. Assists in developing annual cost reduction programs by improving production methods, equipment performance, and quality standards.
  • Become completely familiar with all safety equipment and follow established safety practices at all times.
  • Report all safety hazards or violations to Management promptly.
  • Report all injuries immediately to Management.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
  • Must adhere to Tray-Pak Good Manufacturing Practices, GMP’s
