About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Distribution Operations, the Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Receiving, Distribution, and/or Breakdown work areas. Acting as a working Supervisor, this position will provide leadership, assign duties, and supervise activities of all staff. The supervisor assumes the role of supply chain expert in all areas of distribution operations, assists with staff education, mentors and develops distribution staff, and assists in evaluation of staff performance.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Graduate
  • Read, write, and speak English for work related communication
  • Two years experience working in a distribution center environment

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-the-job training programs as required
  • Act as a resource, guide, and role model for all new hires; demonstrate ability to energetically and enthusiastically assist new hires in acclimating to the job and foster a sense of belonging
  • Mentor and counsel employees to ensure that safety, quality and productivity standards are achieved
  • Prepare employee evaluations with department management
  • Take appropriate disciplinary action to correct employee performance issues
  • Provide training for new employees. This includes all policies and procedures as well as training for any material handling equipment that an employee might use such as forklifts
  • Responsible for the accurate preparation of all employee time sheet information
  • Responsible for attaining full knowledge of all delivery schedules
  • Within the approved budget, work with other shift supervisors, manager, and director to develop staffing schedules that will provide the appropriate amount of labor to meet our stocking and shipping schedules
  • Responsible for monitoring the picking, auditing, and labeling processes to ensure order accuracy and minimize damage
  • Operate office equipment including computers, copy machines, and cell phones
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee or patient information according to HIPAA regulations
  • Assure that work materials and areas are kept neat, safe, clean and orderly
  • Responsible for complete knowledge of all related areas of the company's supply chain management system
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with all departments within the company
  • Responsible for communicating issues to customer service to ensure there is no compromise to deliveries or fill rates
  • Responsible for communications (calls and e-mail) with hospital employees
  • May be required to work extra hours or alternate schedules
  • Complete performance evaluations and any other documentation related to receiving department staff
  • Ensure accurate data entry of product received
  • Schedule all deliveries in a timely manner and maintain correspondence with freight carriers
  • Maintain a good working relationship with purchasing department by completing purchase order discrepancy documentation in a timely manner
  • Perform inventory system adjustments and schedule pick-ups for product returning to vendors
  • Ensure received product is stocked in proper location
  • Ensure staff adherence to all company policies which includes vendor freight drivers while on company grounds
  • Coordinate daily activities regarding backorder releases and special shipments with Distribution Department
  • Maintain a clean and neat working environment at all times
  • Assign inventory system locations to new product and delete product locations when necessary
  • Operate required material handling equipment
  • Coordinate daily filing and monthly purging of vendor packing slips with Accounting Department
  • Maintain high quality performance by accurately utilizing Elite software
  • Correctly perform necessary inventory adjustments
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area (i.e. discard empty boxes)
  • Follow all documented LeeSar policy and procedure
  • Demonstrate ability to meet LeeSar attendance policy, being at work, on time every shift
  • No more than 2 reported safety incidents per year
  • Demonstrate ability to properly escalate appropriate issues to shift supervisor including, but not limited to: products being stored to the wrong location, any outdated / expired product, being unable to complete work for any reason, etc.
  • Report all unsafe or hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., immediately.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and non-verbal communication skills including positive and strong team communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong desire to learn and develop new skills
  • Daily demonstration of great focus and attention to detail in all processes
  • Meet or exceed suggested standards in each area of the DC
  • Perform other duties assigned by a supervisor
  • Ability to participate in team problem solving as part of a continuous improvement culture
  • Demonstrate ability to identify potential solutions to department quality opportunities
  • Demonstrate flexibility and strong teamwork skills in any required job duties
