About The Position

The Shift Supervisor provides high-quality personal care and service to residents while supporting their individual choices, ensuring compliance with regulations, and following best practices. This position oversees caregiving staff, ensures proper documentation, and manages the safe distribution of medications according to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a caregiver or med tech in a CBRF/RCAC environment preferred.
  • CBRF/RCAC certifications as required by state regulations.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including using EHR System.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, supervision, and support to caregivers on assigned shifts, ensuring daily tasks are completed.
  • Assist residents with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance.
  • Review Individual Service Plans (ISP) prior to care, monitor residents’ conditions, and promptly report changes to the direct Supervisor/Management.
  • Communicate with families, healthcare providers, and community contacts regarding resident needs and conditions in coordination with Management.
  • Ensure the home environment remains safe, clean, and comfortable, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and supply stocking.
  • Always follow the “6 Rights” of Medication Administration.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Complete all medication-related documentation, including MARs, TARs, blood sugar logs, and physician orders.
  • Manage medication and medical supply ordering, transcription of orders, and pharmacy cycle fills.
  • Accurately maintain resident records, vitals, incident reports, inventory lists, and other required logs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and infection control practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all residents and company information.
  • Assist in onboarding and mentoring new care staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities, including safety team initiatives.
  • Provide support to other departments, including assisting with activities and meal service when needed.
  • Follow proper emergency protocols and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
