The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for supporting, leading and coordinating with the plant team the business production needs with a focus on Packaging. In this role, the 2nd Shift Supervisor will serve operational team members focusing on daily management and coordination of production, crewing, safety, quality, costs, line efficiency, people development, performance management and MES-EWM-S/4 operations. In this role, you will: Cultivate and drive a safety and quality mindset culture as the TOP priority where people work together to address and act on unsafe behaviors, conditions. Ensuring all quality checks are completed acting on any variances to resolution protecting our customers and reducing plant impacts. Ensure and support 2nd operations that lines are crewed, materials / equipment are ready and production is started and maintained at the posted, planned times and efficient plant shutdowns are completed with Safety and Quality as the top priorities. Adjust and manage plant crewing on shift working with department Team Leads to minimize business impacts and ensure priorities and achieved. Support TRACC and SIC boards with the teams to ensure all data is up to date and understandable to the team and other shifts. Ensure all upset conditions are addressed at the time of occurrence and communicated to the appropriate stake holders, contingency, follow ups and timely communication and escalation a must. Build and maintain a business relationship with other shifts and department, support managers and leaders. Supporting team member skill progression that builds the right technical, behavioral and leadership skills across the 2nd shift departments. Leading and enabling the use of Clorox's systems such as SAP S/4, EWM warehouse management, and Manufacturing Executional System (MES) Use MES Analytics to understand plant performance on the hour and by shift, support effective resolution to issues to maintain system accuracy. Support long term implementation of Vista and all associated platforms. Ensure LSW for your department leaders is followed to support the business daily. Ensure all required system postings are reviewed and accurate with end of shift reconciliation of orders produced prior to end of shift. Developing and championing a Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) for plant & department initiatives to the divisional objectives. Partner with OPEX on training opportunities needed on 2nd shift and execute. Actively working with the Plant Operations Leader on strategic solutions and resource needs, while contributing to our people first culture. Develop and enhance working relationships with the various support teams in the plant to meet targets, goals and department needs. (Safety, Quality, OPEX, TST, Maintenance Reliability, Engineering, etc) Support plant projects and initiatives that impact 2nd shift and provides opportunity. Manage head count, overtime, weekend requirements for department based on business and budgetary needs. Partner and work with other department managers on overall team and plant needs, targets, labor, cost and operations day to day. Support for 24-hour operation, flexibility, taking calls from plant and acting to support. Maintain a working relationship and partnership with all department managers with a focus on operations in production and shipping. All other duties assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Operational experience - Exposure to World Class Manufacturing, Lean, or 6 sigma
  • Team facilitation and consensus building working thru engagement of various levels of the organization
  • Proven interpersonal skills to effectively lead and influence and do work across organizational boundaries including corporate resources, contractors and plant associates.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating a workforce in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and people skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • BS/BA – Technical/Engineering, operations, or Business or equivalent experience.
