Responsibilities & Qualifications Position Overview The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking Shift Supervisors to lead high-performing teams to ensure safe, efficient, and quality operations. This role champions a zero-injury culture, enforces safety and compliance, fosters a positive workplace, and drives productivity through effective execution of the manufacturing plan. The supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, optimize processes, and promote continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment requiring strong problem-solving, communication, and team engagement skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; BS or Technical Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in manufacturing systems and MS Office.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting with flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license with a STAR ID and be able to travel as needed.
• Travel Advisory: Some roles will require traveling for training. Chosen applicants must be able to obtain a passport and have no travel restrictions. Novelis Bay Minette team will work with employees to obtain any required travel documents.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero-injury culture by enforcing EHS policies, driving safe behaviors, and leading accident investigations and safety observations.
• Culture & Engagement: Model Novelis’ cultural beliefs—Be Open, Build Trust, Say Anything, and Be Authentic—while fostering a positive, accountable work environment.
• Productivity & Operations: Coordinate shift priorities with leadership to meet safety, quality, throughput, and cost objectives. Oversee execution of the manufacturing plan and ensure adherence to plant rules.
• Quality & Process Control: Engage with Technical, Process, and Supply Chain teams on quality issues, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement in quality standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote problem-solving and daily management best processes, ensuring ongoing enhancements in safety, efficiency, and team performance.
