About The Position

As the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing all phosphate plant shift activities according to the production plan and daily instructions as directed by the Business Unit Leaders and Operations Managers. The position will also serve as the plant emergency response incident commander for their designated shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma at a minimum, college degree preferred
  • Chemical process knowledge and/or experience
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Interest in and commitment to teamwork and team-based systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with business applications
  • Ability to safely exit the plant in the event of an emergency

Responsibilities

  • Ensure ESH Compliance:
  • Promote safety first culture that fosters an injury free workplace
  • Engage employees in daily ES&H discussions
  • Complete all required ES&H local and regulatory training
  • Comply with all ES&H regulatory requirements
  • Promote procedure compliance to ensure site environmental, safety and health standards are met
  • Conduct necessary ES&H project and process safety reviews utilizing JHA/Hazop process as necessary
  • Enforce all policies and standards and routinely audit performance
  • Issue safety permits
  • Manufacturing:
  • Interface with Operations Manager and Business Unit Leaders to ensure continuity and optimization of material flow
  • Ensure operators have daily work assignments and schedules
  • Arrange coverage for operator call ins
  • Establish, communicate and enforce acceptable standards of performance and behavior within the team, including reconciling conflicts within the team
  • Manage maintenance activities in area and promote continuous improvement of equipment reliability
  • Promptly and effectively resolve process or mechanical variations/deviations
  • Ensure communication between maintenance and production teams is timely and effective
  • Support OE and OEE to achieve budgeted rates, OST and NRFT to drive continuous improvement.
  • Effectively interface with manufacturing engineers to increase operational efficiencies
  • Foster innovative thinking
  • Support capital and expense projects
  • Meet budget commitments regarding spending and overtime
  • Responsible for verification of time entry for hourly employees
  • Quality, Food Safety & Customer Service:
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety systems requirements (ISO/cGMP/HACCP/Food Safety)
  • Set expectations and ensure accountability for area housekeeping
  • Complete food safety action items in a timely manner
  • Understand and follow all applicable quality policies and procedures
  • Communicate, investigate, and resolve quality exceptions and issues
  • Achieve targets for generation and consumption of phosphate rework product
  • Employee Development:
  • Provide performance expectations and feedback to all employees
  • Proactively address substandard performance
  • Ensure team members are accountable for executing their respective roles and responsibilities as defined by standards of performance and performance metrics
  • Actively listen to people and build rapport, trust and respect
  • Attend all requisite training sessions and support training initiatives in the phosphate plant
