About The Position

Now Hiring: Shift Supervisor – Lead, Support, and Make a Difference! Location: Residential care setting in Mountain Home, TX Schedule: Full-time, includes working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (6:30 am – 10:30 pm), evenings, some weekends & holidays Join Pathways – where leadership meets compassion. As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll guide and empower a dedicated team of Direct Support Professionals to create a safe, supportive, and structured environment for youth in care. This isn’t just a job – it’s a calling to make every shift matter.

Requirements

  • You’re 21+ with a high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in social work or psychology preferred).
  • You have at least two years of supervisor or lead experience in childcare, residential, or behavioral health settings.
  • You’re organized, dependable, and calm under pressure.
  • You can communicate clearly, think critically, and inspire your team.
  • You’re ready to make a difference – one shift at a time.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Background check, references, and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Flexibility for working evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job include the following: frequent seeing, hearing, speaking, sitting and writing clearly to interact with residents.
  • Manual dexterity and use of a computer frequently.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat to lift and move to interact with residents and respond in emergencies.
  • Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in tense situations and use appropriate de-escalation skills as trained.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and write meaningful, concise reports.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor caring professionals who provide daily support to youth in residential care.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and quick, compassionate response to emergencies.
  • Model empathy, structure, and professionalism – every day and every shift.
  • Train, coach, and develop staff to help them succeed.
  • Support youth through life skills, routines, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with families, caseworkers, and team members to ensure each child’s wellbeing.
