About The Position

Oversee the mill’s operation and supervise a mill crew.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and occasionally lift up to 100lbs with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably 2+ years industrial experience or 1+ years mill experience at New Madrid Mill preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maximize returns to farmer members through service.
• Maintain safety programs implemented by company.
• Become skilled in computer applications used by the company.
• Manage the day to day work flow.
• Assign work tasks to employees.
• Ensure employees have a safe working environment.
• Inspect employee's work for quality and quantity.
• Manage costs - labor, electrical, and repairs.
• Work with people and listen to people.
• Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
• Present monthly safety/sanitation training.
• Selects, disciplines and terminates employees according to Riceland policies.
• Train new employees.
• Strive to eliminate as much unplanned downtime as practical.
• Determine the root cause of any opportunity or problem before developing any or all action plans.
• Be prepared to work days, nights, weekends. May need to switch shifts on a short notice.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and occasionally lift up to 100lbs with assistance.
