SUMMARY Supervises and coordinates activities concerned with production of company products and oversees production workers in the manufacturing area by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree with eight to ten years of manufacturing experience and three to five years of supervisory related experience and/or training, or two- or four-year degree in management related field with eight to ten years of manufacturing experience and one to two years of supervisory related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate PC and standard office equipment.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and the ability to effectively present information to all levels of employees, including top management, in a variety of settings is required.
  • Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and delegates duties.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Consults with Operations relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Provide a safe work environment by communicating and enforcing compliance of all safety policies and procedures; Conducts and follows through on safety inspections; Attends and participates in safety functions.
  • Conducts and follows through with accident investigations and accident-related reporting in a timely manner. Effectively manages return to work program.
  • Ensures effective training of new and existing employees.
  • Provides positive leadership by maintaining open communication with all employees.
  • Confers with other areas of production to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Stays informed on facility specific environmental policies and standards and ensures requirements are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures
