About The Position

Scoular has recently made an exciting investment in an owned asset to crush both soybeans and canola for use in the growing renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel markets.  We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to oversee daily plant crushing operations and maintain daily production goals.  Under the direction of the Plant Superintendent, the Shift Supervisor is primarily responsible for the operation, supervision, and performance of the Goodland Crush Plant on their assigned shift.  The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading their team by providing direction, leadership, motivation, communication, training, coaching and discipline as needed and within site guidelines for all colleagues within the area of responsibility.   This role is on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and years of experience) in soybean crushing, oil refining, oil packaging operations, or related and applicable activities.
  • 2+ years of experience managing people.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and other technical software packages as needed.
  • Ability to work odd hours, weekends, and rotating shift schedule required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scheduling of team including vacation time, ensuring cross-training is performed sufficiently to maintain safe and efficient performance of the site during all shifts.
  • Directing daily production and maintenance activities
  • Responsible to communicate shift performance, downtime issues, Root Cause analysis results for issues on shift, and other incident reports as occasion requires.
  • A thorough understanding of the oilseed processing operations to be gained/improved by hands-on experience, classroom and technical programs.
  • Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations and guidelines Support business activities, objectives, and programs.
  • Manage the training and coaching for all shift personnel to ensure the use of proper safety practices, operating procedures, company systems, policies and procedures.
