About The Position

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking versatile and adaptable candidates with experience to become our Shift Supervisors. Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality or similar industries is preferred for this position. A successful Shift Supervisor will naturally become a top candidate for career growth opportunities within Goodwill's Retail Division. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Two (2) years' retail experience is desired.
  • Familiar with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically.
  • Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through completion of On the Job (OJT) documentation.
  • Able to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification.
  • Able to quickly problem solve and make decisions.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwill's policies and procedures.
  • Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
  • Proficient in the utilization of office equipment and office software (i.e. Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the whole retail center and address immediate issues of safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics either personally or through delegation.
  • Manage breaks and redirect staff/work teams to address call-offs.
  • Coach employees verbally and with initial write-ups.
  • Provide input to reviews and terminations.
  • Facilitate employee purchases.
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures.
  • Verify daily sales report paperwork.
  • Count drawers and make change between drawers and safe.
  • Assist with inventory process by counting, entering, and verifying.
  • Be on call for alarm notifications after hours.
  • Plan, coordinate, and control the activities of the customer service team.
  • Act as the first escalation point for customer complaints.
  • Serve as the point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC).
  • Maintain knowledge of store procedures at the proficiency of a generalist.
  • Ensure E-Commerce product(s) are processed accurately and moving to E-Commerce efficiently.
  • Use and become certified on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly, or other equipment.
