About The Position

The Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the Operations Manager in managing operations and personnel for a specific shift at a Ryder location. This position involves overseeing technicians and service employees, ensuring customer needs are met while balancing financial and operational targets. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for workflow management, labor management, customer relationship management, asset management, quality management, and financial management, with a focus on meeting performance metrics and maintaining high standards in service delivery.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a maintenance operations environment required.
  • Demonstrated success in a Ryder role may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong vehicle diagnostics/repair knowledge preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a Shop Management System preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Manager in managing operations and personnel for a shift.
  • Supervise employees including Technicians-In-Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, and Service Employees.
  • Ensure business objectives and labor requirements are met.
  • Manage location performance against metrics to meet or exceed assigned objectives.
  • Conduct work analysis, planning, and scheduling for technicians.
  • Ensure execution of warranty policies and procedures.
  • Manage customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and vehicle uptime.
  • Conduct yard checks for proper work scheduling and prioritization.
  • Evaluate needs and recommend shop tooling and equipment requirements.
  • Perform quality inspections of PM & repairs and implement corrective actions.
