As a Shift Operator, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by operating equipment and/or areas in the unit, using knowledge and experience to operate in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner. In addition, the Shift Operator will execute and contribute to the unit work activity task list.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills to work with varying departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Process Technology.
  • SAP and Delta-V process knowledge.
  • Leadership and technical skills.
  • Continuous process experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rounds & field quality testing to check process equipment, product quality, and monitor process conditions and control systems.
  • Perform tasks assigned to operations.
  • Use basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve process deviation and upset conditions.
  • Perform simple problem solving and participate in improving daily work.
  • Follow the standard work processes and practices as outlined by the site and/or unit.
  • Understand and deliver what is expected of Operators when an unplanned event occurs that will trigger a root cause investigation.
  • Participate in root cause investigations as requested.
  • Train new unit operating personnel and share operating knowledge for their development.
  • Ensure operations performance within their assigned responsibility align with plant and business goals.
  • Make improvements in unit operating discipline and performance based on personal knowledge and skills.
  • Monitor key unit metrics to ensure plant performance remains on track to achieve unit and business goals.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance tasks with a goal to keep equipment in good operating condition and prevent future equipment failures.
  • Accurately and completely record asset utilization losses.
  • Develop the skills and competencies required to perform operator care for the plant activities.
  • Utilize the appropriate operating discipline and safe work practices required when performing operator care for the plant activities.
  • Follow the Procedure Use Policy of the unit and/or site.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
