You are mechanically inclined, safety-driven, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and performance throughout your shift. As a Shift Miller, you will operate and maintain the flour mill under the direction of the Head Miller while supporting Mennel’s food safety programs and operational goals. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring efficient mill performance, product quality, and a safe, audit-ready facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in flour milling, food production, or manufacturing preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience (2+ years) preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of materials flow and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test and perform duties while wearing a respirator
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in flour milling, food production, or manufacturing preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience (2+ years) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operating and monitoring milling units to achieve optimum performance and yields
  • Managing wheat and flour inventories to required specifications
  • Performing equipment repairs and troubleshooting mechanical issues as needed
  • Maintaining accurate production reports and complying with all SOPs
  • Ensuring compliance with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, sanitation, and food safety standards
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Attending required training sessions and safety meetings
  • Covering for the Head Miller and/or another Shift Miller when needed
  • Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
