About The Position

The position requires the ability to perform all electrical and mechanical repairs on Extruders, Thermoformers, and service all ancillary systems to meet production requirements. The successful candidate must be familiar with all aspects and procedures of plant operations and will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faulty production and related plant equipment with minimal supervision, utilizing provided schematics, drawings, and other documentation.

Requirements

Formal training (apprenticeship in the field of electrician) and supply documentation
Excellent understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
Familiarity with all facets and procedures of plant operations
Strong industrial electrical and mechanical background with formal training which include theory and reading of schematics
Well-rounded knowledge of quality of all products
Well-rounded knowledge of all safety procedures
Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent certification or experience on the job, manufacturing experience; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience
Good math, reading, and writing skills
Powered Industrial Truck Certificate (In house training and licensing)
Lockout/Tagout Certification (In house training and licensing)
Ability to lift 75 pounds/Max
Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Ability to wear corrective lenses (with protective safety over glasses) PPE or use the Safety Prescription Program

Responsibilities

Maintain a full complement of tools to enable performance of normal duties
Break down and set up for all Thermoforming product on machinery to the standards set for cycle and quality and be able to clean and prepare all tooling for set up
Diagnose and repair plant equipment entirely on own, without supervision
Maintain the necessary hand tools needed to perform job duties in a productive manner
Keep accurate records of work performed
Perform work in a safe manner to personnel and equipment
Use a fire extinguisher
Get assistance to resolve any issues to get machine back in operation
Keep all areas free of debris (Housekeeping)
Wear all required PPE per the Maintenance staff
Adhere to and be in compliance with all SQF/GMP standards
Comply with all facility safety rules, regulations, and policy procedures
Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their Supervisor
Maintain floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities
Communicate to Management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and report any defective PPE
Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders
