About The Position

The Shift Manger is a shift-based, front-line supply and operations people leader with high drive for engagement and responsible for delivering safety, quality, continuous improvement, performance management, training, associate development, transformation and change, team engagement and operating results for their assigned area. What we are looking for: Minimum Requirements: BASc Eng, BASc Food Science, or BSc preferred. Operational management principles and competencies. Understanding of applicable laws (OHS, ESA, MOL). Lean business practices. Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change. Physical Requirements: Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping. Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment. Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods Ability to work in varies manufacturing environments and non-temperature-controlled rooms. Read, write, speak and understand English What will your key responsibilities be? Responsible for leading a team of approx. 10 associates, providing operational expertise while producing quality product, meeting schedule and design specifications at optimum cost in a safe, hygienic work environment. Educate, promote, and develop team operational mindset around efficiency, safety, quality, and service. Leverage MSE processes to sustain or improve the performance of several machines, and modular areas within the factory. Escalate issues in alignment with protocol and ensure follow through on actions, give full and accurate verbal and written handover. Lead problem solving activities within shift, focused on top losses. Drive a high level of associate engagement within team; develop associates through the PDP program; address performance issues in a timely manner and provide recognition of exceptional performance. Reduces changeover and sanitation times through lean tools. Drives site continuous improvement initiatives and projects using shift resources in conjunction with site engineering and CI resources. Support business systems development by ensuring all systems transactions are completed, accurate and reported at end of shift. Provides direction for third-party temps, contractors, and vendors. Execute Shift Manager standard daily work. Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures. What can you expect from Mars? Requirements
