About The Position

The Shift Manager at Pet Supermarket is responsible for enhancing the shopping experience for customers and their pets. This role involves leading the store team, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing daily operations in the absence of the Store and Assistant Manager. The Shift Manager plays a crucial role in driving sales, maintaining store standards, and fostering a positive work environment while being passionate about pets and their needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year in a retail management role.
• Enjoy working with and around animals.
• Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle preferred.

Nice To Haves

• College degree is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service to customers and their pets.
• Assist the management team with day-to-day store operations.
• Drive daily sales goals and complete tasks as the Manager on Duty in the absence of Store and Assistant Manager.
• Monitor teams on customer service and selling models, communicating observations to Store Manager/Assistant Manager.
• Plan and execute community events in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Maintain a safe and clean store environment, including animal care and feeding.
• Support inventory management and ensure physical inventories are accurate.
• Execute new hire training checklists and merchandising guidelines.
