About the position

The Shift Leader at Dunkin' Donuts is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, coaching Crew Members, and ensuring a high-quality guest experience. This role involves setting goals, providing job assignments, and motivating the team while maintaining operational standards. The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Coach Crew Members throughout their shift to execute operational standards and deliver a great guest experience.
  • Set goals, provide job assignments, and motivate team members, celebrating successes and providing feedback.
  • Deploy team members appropriately to meet guests' needs and service standards throughout the shift.
  • Support training of Crew Members as directed by the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Communicate goals and hold team members accountable for performance during the shift.
  • Role model exceptional guest service and prioritize guests' needs.
  • Drive a sense of urgency among Crew Members to satisfy guests' needs and resolve problems.
  • Reinforce the use of systems, tools, and procedures throughout the shift, correcting deficiencies as needed.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure quality, service, and cleanliness standards are met throughout the shift.
  • Ensure restaurant standards and marketing initiatives are properly executed during the shift.
  • Control labor costs, food costs, and cash throughout the shift by following all systems and processes.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures related to cleanliness, food safety, and restaurant safety and security during the shift.
  • Report equipment issues and provide performance feedback to Crew Members.

Requirements

  • Fluent in speaking and reading English.
  • Math and writing skills are necessary.
  • Restaurant, retail, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to anticipate and understand guests' needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills based on analysis and judgment.
  • Experience in building effective teams and enabling them to make decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous leadership experience in a restaurant or retail setting.
