About The Position

Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensures all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. Shift Leaders do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent guest relations skills and tact.
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of Mazzio’s operational procedures.
• Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
• Comfortable with workplace technology, including POS systems.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to manage, direct, and correct crew members.

• Valid driver's license with valid personal vehicle insurance.
• Driving record that meets the standards set forth by Mazzio’s insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to restaurant performance standards by ensuring all crew members are actively working at their assigned stations/duties while on the clock.
• Regulate workflow and reassign crew as needed through the shifts.
• Support labor goals by reducing crew if business volume slows.
• Resolve guest concerns, either in person or via phone, using good judgement when determining if customer credit is necessary.
• Ensure guest needs are met throughout the shift by managing food preparation, delivery times, and guest interactions.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by verifying proper glove usage, cleanliness of restrooms, and food storage temperatures.
• Verify that crew members are following uniform guidelines and safety protocols.
• Perform cash handling tasks including driver and server cash out, cash counts, and preparing deposits.
• Ensure the safety and security of crew, guests, products, and cash while managing the shift.
• Assist in training and development of crew members.
• May be assigned additional administrative tasks such as writing schedules and assisting with inventory.
