About The Position

At Einstein Bros. Bagels, the company bakes bagels fresh daily since 1995 and aims to spread joy and happiness through bagels. They are committed to work-life balance, with stores closing at 2pm, ensuring team members do not miss evening events. The Shift Leader role is compared to cream cheese on a bagel, adding flavor and holding things together. Shift Leaders collaborate with the General Manager to motivate the team, deliver a great guest experience, set morale, provide feedback, coach team members, and open and close the store with minimal supervision. They ensure food and beverage quality and maintain a safe and clean store environment. The position offers career growth opportunities, with many General Managers having started as Shift Leaders or Team Members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours (as early as 3am depending on the restaurant) and weekends
• Must be able to pass background check as applicable with local, state, and federal law
• Must be in possession of, or able to acquire, a ServSafe Certification prior to completion of leadership training

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a current, valid, state issued driver’s license (always preferred but only required at specific locations) and meet the driving qualifications as required by Company policy

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with the General Manager to help motivate the team to deliver a great guest experience.
• Take charge and set the morale and tone of the team.
• Provide feedback and coach team members when needed.
• Open and close the store with little to no supervision.
• Ensure the quality of the food and beverages served.
• Keep a safe and clean store environment.
