About The Position

A Shift Leader is responsible for the restaurant's overall operations during his/her shift. This includes ensuring company standards, policies, and procedures are met and followed, and costs are properly controlled. The Shift Leader must communicate clearly with employees, supervise them effectively, and ensure assignments are completed. They are also responsible for inventory, adjusting the Par Prep Sheet for fresh product availability, observing and guiding crewmembers, reallocating labor, coordinating overall operations, and ensuring guests are served quickly and efficiently, soliciting feedback, and resolving complaints. This position requires a friendly and enthusiastic attitude, a caring attitude for guests and employees, and maintaining operational quality and cleanliness standards. Administrative duties requiring basic computer skills are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Maintain cash variances at acceptable levels
  • Reliable transportation
  • Project a professional appearance and a positive attitude at all times in the restaurant
  • Stand for up to 8 hours during a shift
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Use motion that entails pushing, pulling, stretching and continuous bilateral use of fingers and wrists
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all company standards are met; company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure costs are properly controlled.
  • Communicate clearly with the employees, supervising them effectively to ensure their assignments are completed properly.
  • Inventory supplies and reorder items.
  • Adjust the Par Prep Sheet so that fresh product is continually available to serve guests.
  • Observe and guide crewmembers as they perform their assignments, reallocate labor and coordinate overall operations.
  • Ensure that guests are served quickly and efficiently; solicit guest feedback and resolve guest complaints.
  • Exhibiting a friendly and enthusiastic attitude while performing job assignments
  • Showing a caring attitude for guests and employees
  • Maintaining the company’s operational quality and cleanliness standards
  • Administrative duties which require basic computer skills
