About The Position

Bruegger’s Bagels, a company with over 35 years of tradition, is seeking a Shift Leader. The company is committed to serving genuine New York-style bagels and real, made-in-Vermont cream cheese, while also prioritizing work-life balance for its team members, with stores closing at 2 PM daily. The Shift Leader role is crucial, akin to the cream cheese on a bagel, providing flavor and holding the team together. Shift Leaders collaborate with the General Manager to motivate the team, ensure a great guest experience, and are empowered to set the team's morale and tone. They are responsible for providing feedback and coaching, as well as independently opening and closing the store. The role also involves maintaining food and beverage quality and a safe, clean store environment. Bruegger's Bagels emphasizes career growth, noting that many General Managers began as Shift Leaders or Team Members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours (as early as 5am depending on the restaurant) and weekends
• Must be able to pass background check as applicable with local, state, and federal law
• Must be in possession of, or able to acquire, a ServSafe Certification prior to completion of leadership training

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a current, valid, state issued driver’s license (always preferred but only required at specific locations)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with the General Manager to help motivate the team to deliver a great guest experience
• Take charge and set the morale and tone of the team
• Provide feedback and coach team members when needed
• Open and close the store with little to no supervision
• Ensure the quality of the food and beverages served
• Keep a safe and clean store environment
