About The Position

Buncha is a rapidly expanding social commerce and delivery platform that transforms how customers connect with the stores they love, delivering affordable, reliable groceries and household essentials through scheduled, community-driven deliveries. Shift Leads are crucial to Buncha’s daily operations, acting as in-store leaders responsible for ensuring accurate order fulfillment, on-time deliveries, and team member success. This is a hands-on role involving coaching, problem-solving, real-time issue management, and maintaining an efficient, high-performing environment. Shift Leads also serve as the key liaison between Buncha, grocery partners, and field teams.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a fast-paced operations, retail, or grocery setting
  • Clear communicator with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with logistics or dispatch platforms
  • Hands-on leader who is proactive, calm under pressure, and solutions-oriented
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, move efficiently in-store, and be on your feet for most of the shift
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily store and delivery operations: Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately, vans are dispatched on time, and all workflows are running smoothly.
  • Drive on-time delivery and customer satisfaction: Keep orders moving on schedule and help improve shopper performance, which directly impacts our customer rating.
  • Manage and coach in-store teams: Supervise shoppers and drivers during your shift, provide real-time coaching, and ensure accountability.
  • Adjust staffing and shift pacing based on volume: Proactively evaluate order volume and team bandwidth to make real-time decisions about breaks, staffing, and priorities.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed: Quickly address and solve operational problems, escalating major concerns to leadership to avoid delivery delays or customer impact.
  • Ensure SOP adherence and identify improvement opportunities: Make sure team members follow processes, and flag or help update outdated workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Foster a positive, high-performing team culture: Motivate and engage the team while maintaining a respectful, safe, and energetic workplace.
  • Build strong relationships with Meijer store staff: Collaborate with store leadership and floor teams to maintain a supportive, respectful partnership that helps Buncha operate effectively in-store.
