Playa Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, founded in 2014, and our mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 300+ unit operator and franchisor of the leading fast casual restaurant concept. As a Shift Leader at Playa Bowls, you serve as an extension of the management team and are trusted to oversee shop operations in the absence of a manager. You’re confident in delegating tasks, leading by example, and making decisions that prioritize the needs of the shop and the team. WHAT YOU’LL DO Oversee food quality throughout your shift, ensuring freshness and discarding products when necessary Delegate tasks efficiently and responsibly to support smooth operations and team productivity Lead and manage all aspects of opening and closing shifts with consistency and attention to detail Handle and process customer refunds accurately and professionally Address and resolve guest concerns in a courteous, solution-oriented manner Monitor and record inventory levels throughout the shift, including end-of-day counts Accurately count and reconcile the register, safe, and daily deposits Maintain clear and timely communication with management regarding shift updates or operational issues Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and aligned with company standards and procedures Act as a role model by embodying and promoting the Playa Bowls mission, purpose, and core values WHAT YOU’LL BRING Committed to delivering exceptional customer service by providing friendly, attentive service and ensuring satisfaction with every guest interaction. Ability to lead by example and adhere to company policies to foster a positive and collaborative work environment and support team development. Proven ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced dynamic environment, quickly adjusting to changing priorities and customers’ needs to maintain seamless operations. Skilled at prioritizing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, such as managing team productivity and assisting with customer service. Clear and effective communication with team members, managers, and customers with the ability to delegate tasks and provide instructions concisely. Ability to stay composed and think quickly under pressure, handling disputes or challenges among team members or customers professionally and calmly Demonstrate empathy, understanding and active listening skills when addressing concerns or ideas towards team members and customers Ensuring adherence to food safety standards and operational protocols and monitoring team performance to ensure quality in product preparation and presentation
