About The Position

Bruegger's Bagels has been kettle cooking New York-style bagels and serving real, made-in-Vermont cream cheese for over 35 years. The company is committed to work-life balance for its team, with stores closing at 2 PM, ensuring no evening or night shifts. They are seeking a Shift Leader to join their team. Shift Leaders collaborate with the General Manager to motivate the team, deliver a great guest experience, and set the morale and tone. They are empowered to take charge, provide feedback, coach team members, and are responsible for opening and closing the store with minimal supervision. Shift Leaders also ensure the quality of food and beverages and maintain a safe and clean store environment. The role offers opportunities for career growth, with many General Managers having started as Shift Leaders or Team Members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours (as early as 3am depending on the restaurant) and weekends
• Must be able to pass background check as applicable with local, state, and federal law
• Must be in possession of, or able to acquire, a ServSafe Certification prior to completion of leadership training
• Meet the driving qualifications as required by Company policy (if a driver's license is required at specific locations)

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a current, valid, state issued driver’s license (always preferred but only required at specific locations)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with the General Manager to help motivate the team to deliver a great guest experience
• Take charge and set the morale and tone of the team
• Provide feedback and coach team members when needed
• Open and close the store with little to no supervision
• Ensure the quality of the food and beverages served
• Keep a safe and clean store environment
