The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures that the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives, and guest connections during the shift. The Shift Leader demonstrates mastery of the DOING of Team Member with ease, enthusiasm, and excellence. They lead shifts that focus on team engagement and guest satisfaction with an unwavering commitment to Make Fun Happen. The Shift Leader thinks strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management while demonstrating a “total store vision” to take ownership of the look and feel of the store. They are knowledgeable about the deployment for the day and the roles and responsibilities associated with it. Effective communication on the floor during the shift is crucial, as is the ability to see the needs of the team and guests and address situations before they become problematic. The Shift Leader understands the multiple priorities of the shift and effectively communicates and delegates objectives and tasks. They take ownership not only for the current shift but also for the shift that follows. Ensuring that the team executes SOP and quality standards correctly and consistently is a key responsibility. The Shift Leader actively coaches and gives feedback to Team Members to ensure they are bringing their best DOING and BEING to their role. They also train the team on role responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotional items, while performing administrative tasks with integrity and to completion, including bank deposits, inventory, and store product orders. Additionally, the Shift Leader actively develops Team Members and engages in conversations about career and professional growth.
