Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position. Responsible for the daily management of employees of a common shift or more than one department including those of Shift Leaders I. Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate. Expected to meet the production, quality, and safety needs set by management. Maintaining an efficient workplace by assigning jobs and duties in a fair and equitable manner. Responsible for creating creel sheets and tufting machine disks. Responsible for maintaining a tuft log of each operating machine. Responsible for performing weight checks on tufting machines as needed. Responsible for performing a roll count every 2 hours. Responsible for maintaining and verifying employee time. Responsible for complying with Mohawk Home policies on personnel. Responsible for complying with federal, state, and local regulations regarding personnel. Responsible for creating an environment for personal growth and development of the employees. Assisting employees as needed. Responsible for maintaining weight deviation reports. Responsible for processing employee transfers. Responsible for performing the new employee 12 weeks safety orientation including issuing supplies, explaining emergency procedures, and orienting the employee with the manufacturing facility. Responsible for attending supervisor meetings. Responsible for inspecting new orders. Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision Follow all established standard operating procedures Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary Perform other tasks assigned by management

Requirements

  • Highly proficient on PC (Working knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Office).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Supervisory/managerial experience required.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in Shift Leader I duties and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge in Twisting and Heastset/Suessan
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to be an effective team member.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs
  • Stand for long period of time on manufacturing floor
  • Able to work in hot/cold conditions
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to step in for other supervisors if needed with very little heads up
