The Shift Lead is responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of store management, which includes all necessary system startups, cash handling procedures, and ensuring the sales floor and stock room are prepared for business. This role also involves managing product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops, and providing change for cash registers. A key aspect of the position is to model and deliver an exceptional customer experience. The Shift Lead engages customers, resolves issues, and coaches team members on best practices for customer service. Operationally, the Shift Lead holds store keys, assists with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, manages sales transactions on the cash register, and helps with reverse logistics. They also assist in developing and maintaining displays, ensuring accurate inventory counts, managing pricing and signage, and completing bookkeeping activities. The role includes assisting with store maintenance, proper food item separation and stock rotation, supporting the Pickup program, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Shift Lead also acts as a liaison between management and non-management team members, communicating tasks and reporting issues.
