About the position
The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role includes managing customer interactions, handling cash transactions, and maintaining store inventory and compliance with regulations. The Shift Lead also plays a key role in training team members and enhancing the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including cash handling and ensuring readiness for business.
- Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops to the safe.
- Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with team members.
- Responsible for holding store keys and assisting with vendor deliveries.
- Registers all sales on assigned cash register and maintains accurate inventory counts.
- Assists in evaluating and developing displays and completing resets and revisions.
- Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
