Our Shift Lead Officer positions help maintain a safe and secure environment by actively monitoring the premises, providing leadership to security personnel, and ensuring compliance with all site regulations and directives. This role preserves order, supports client operations, and provides exceptional customer service while enforcing procedures pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the property. A Shift Lead Officer is responsible for safeguarding people, property, and assets while providing lead direction to Security Officers assigned to the shift. This includes monitoring premises, enforcing rules and regulations, assisting with scheduling and training, and ensuring all required rounds, reports, and post orders are completed accurately. Shift Lead Officers play a key role in deterring criminal activity, maintaining oversight of operations, responding to emergencies, and supporting both officers and the client.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and communication.
  • Must meet all state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
  • Must pass background checks, drug screening, and all site-specific requirements.
  • Excellent observational, leadership, and de-escalation skills; able to remain composed under pressure.
  • Strong communicator capable of directing teams, interacting with clients, and preparing professional documentation.
  • Proficient computer skills; able to learn SOC systems and software quickly.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally at all organizational levels.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in high-pressure situations.
  • Understanding of security operations, safety procedures, and supervisory practices.
  • Able and willing to drive a client vehicle if required.
  • Capable of performing extensive walking tours.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight: Provide lead direction to Security Officers on shift; ensure post orders are followed, rounds are completed, and operational standards are met.
  • Surveillance & Monitoring: Monitor security cameras and patrol assigned premises to detect suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or safety hazards.
  • SOC Readiness: All Lead Officers will be trained in SOC (Security Operations Center) duties; intermediate to advanced computer skills are required.
  • Access Control: Enforce access policies by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, medical situations, or criminal activity. Notify appropriate authorities and escalate as needed.
  • Incident Reporting: Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely reports regarding incidents, irregularities, and security breaches.
  • Patrolling: Conduct foot or vehicle patrols to ensure entrances, perimeters, and parking areas are secure; check for unlocked doors, safety concerns, or hazards.
  • Customer Service: Greet and assist employees, visitors, and clients with professionalism while offering directions or support.
  • Safety Inspections: Inspect the premises for safety concerns, fire risks, or environmental hazards.
  • Conflict Resolution: De-escalate minor disturbances and maintain calm, order, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Staff Coaching: Assist with on-site training for officers, reviewing post orders, and mentoring new staff.
  • Scheduling Support: Help ensure adequate shift coverage, communicate staffing needs, and support performance management.
  • Client Interaction: Meet with client representatives as needed to confirm expectations are met and service levels remain high.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with submitting payroll information, documentation, and maintaining logs as required.
