About The Position

The Shift Foreman at ThermTech is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the plant, ensuring that production schedules are met, and that personnel are properly trained. This role involves direct interaction with team members to assist in achieving daily goals, maintaining documentation, and promoting a positive work environment. The Shift Foreman plays a crucial role in team development, training, and leadership, while also ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years in heat treating and prior management/leadership experience.
  • Understand Bluestreak and Microsoft Office software and use it efficiently.
  • Knowledge of ThermTech's quality policy, mission, vision, and values statement.
  • Knowledge and/or previous experience of 6S.
  • Knowledgeable of all plant equipment and procedures.
  • Proficient physical shape - able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Proficient in typing and basic computer skills.
  • Fluent in English (reading and speaking).
  • Basic math knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with employees on shift to accomplish set schedules and commitments.
  • Schedule work and communicate as needed with customers.
  • Oversee operations on the production floor.
  • Understand the processing of all material within production areas.
  • Ensure plant organization and cleanliness.
  • Document all maintenance concerns and coordinate with the Maintenance Department for repairs.
  • Document and report all equipment issues to the Plant Manager.
  • Work one-on-one with employees to help improve their overall performance.
  • Complete semi-annual employee reviews for all team members.
  • Provide training, coaching, and disciplinary actions for all team members.
  • Maintain documentation of training for employees.
  • Conduct startup of new equipment and record all training documents needed.
  • Perform weekly goal assessments of all individuals in temp-to-hire status.
  • Conduct monthly goal assessments of all ThermTech employees in collaboration with shift foreman.
  • Complete shift audit forms and manage inter-shift meetings.
  • Participate in hourly plant walk-throughs and ensure adequate shift coverage through employee scheduling.
  • Communicate lead times to the CSR Department.
  • Maintain and strengthen employee morale through servant leadership philosophy.
  • Provide constructive recommendations for overall improvements in safety, quality, and productivity standards.
