Basic Job Functions:Nucor Steel Kankakee is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Shift Electrician. The Shift Electrician responsibilities include but are not limited to: •Taking care of our customers by executing the division's safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives •Developing and promoting safe work practices for maintaining plant equipment •Applying technical knowledge to solve problems with plant equipment •Troubleshooting and upgrades to electrical controls systems and associates equipment (PLC), and electrical power distribution and protection equipment Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a diploma, a degree, or certification program in the electrical field, or two years of electrical maintenance experience including PLC's, VFD's, and controls

Nice To Haves

  • Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience
  • 2 or 4 year degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering
